Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens
Cedar Lakes Woods and Gardens is a unique botanical oasis in Williston, Florida,
transformed from a former limestone quarry into a sprawling multi-level garden.
This non-profit botanical garden features dramatic elevation changes and
sweeping views that are rare for Florida's flat landscape. Visitors often
describe it as a hidden gem that feels like a prehistoric or tropical fantasy
world.

The 20 acre garden is
built into a 100 year old lime rock quarry, creating deep ravines, tiered
walkways, and stone bridges that offer varied vantage points. You'll find a
massive collection of succulents, bromeliads, and gingers alongside water
features filled with koi fish and resident swans. The grounds contain an
expansive lagoon dotted with multiple islands connected by foot bridges, and
several waterfalls. A variety of different gazebos, pavilions and overlooks
provide ample opportunity for interesting photos.
The trails within the garden are well marked with numbered stops for
sightseeing. While the main loop trail is handicap accessible, large portions of
the park are only accessible along steep grades and stairs.
Cedar Lakes Woods &
Gardens provides some kid-friendly features such as a kid's garden area, and
scavenger hunts. They also host periodic special events including an annual
Christmas holiday light display and a Spring Festival - with music and craft vendors.
