Holiday is a sprawling unincoroporated community in West Pasco County roughly centered by the intersection of U.S. 19 and Mile Stretch Drive. Developed on land once occupied by vast orange groves, it is a mix of residential subdivisions and commercial businesses. Beginning in the late 1950s and early 1960s, development peaked in the 1970s. Notable subdivisions are Beacon Square, Colonial Manor, Aloha Gardens, and Holiday Lake Estates.

William W. Boyd is widely credited as the person responsible for the "Holiday" name for the area. In the early 1960s, he served as president of the First Federal Savings & Loan Association, which was expanding into southwestern Pasco County with a new branch office. Noticing a nearby road named "Holiday Drive", Boyd convinced bank directors to name the new branch the "Holiday Branch". He then launched a campaign to give the surrounding residential developments a unified civic identity by referring to the area as "Holiday". The idea stuck.

The Holiday area, bordered roughly by Elfers to the north, Anclote and Pinellas County to the south, spans all the way from the Anclote River west to the coastal parks. Though it is mostly residential in nature, nearby county parks, like J. Ben Harrell Recreation Complex - referred to as the "Holiday Recreation Center", Key Vista Nature Park, and Anclote Gulf Park provide opportunities for outdoor fun and activities.
