Located in rural eastern Pasco County near Dade City, Snowcat Ridge Alpine Snow
Park is advertised as "Florida's premier outdoor alpine destination". Launched
in November 2020, the seasonal venue offers a rare winter wonderland experience
in the heart of a traditionally warm climate.
Operating primarily during the cooler months from November through early spring,
the park uses specialized equipment to produce thousands of pounds of real snow
for guests of all ages. The park's main feature is a massive, 60-foot-tall and
400-foot-long snow tubing hill. Riders slide down single, tandem, or 10-person
family tubes. A pair of "magic carpet" conveyor belts hauls riders and tubes to
the top to eliminate strenuous climbing. At night, the hill features a music and
light display.

The "Arctic Igloo" is a temperature-controlled enclosed dome venue kept around
30°F. Visitors can build snowmen, toss snowballs, make snow angels, or send
young children down the "Bunny Slope" - a small snow tubing hill designed for
kids under 42 inches tall. An outdoor ice skating course with an adjoining
beginner oval is also available.
Surrounding the snow zones is the Alpine Village, a central hub featuring food
vendors, warm beverages, and seasonal shopping. Fire pits are stationed
throughout the village for warming up and roasting s'mores. For adults, the
village offers a cozy place to relax with a hot cocoa or beer while enjoying the
mountain lodge vibe. Because operations rely on weather conditions, ticket sales
are timed, with options for general admission or full-day tubing packages.
Visitors are advised to layer up, bring waterproof gloves, and wear sturdy
closed-toe shoes to handle the wet, slippery conditions inside the snow zones.
A variety of general and special admission packages are offered, with a discount
for ordering tickets online. Some activities, like the ice skating, require a
separate fee. There is also a charge for parking.
