Looking to celebrate your Irish or
Scottish roots
... or experience Celtic heritage, culture and music? The Celtic Family Jamboree
offers two days of entertainment and comraderie in the woods at Sertoma Ranch
near
Brooksville.
Regular attendees refer to this festival as "Fam-Jam" because of its
family-friendly atmosphere of Celtic music, tradition, and experience. Some of
the top names on the Celtic circuit perform on the main pavilion stage. There are
also a variety of workshops for aspiring and experienced musicians interested in
the fiddle, mountain or hammer dulcimer, and other instruments.
A wide variety of Celtic, Irish and other UK based musical talent is on display,
including fiddle playing, flute, dulcimer, pipes and drums, as well as Irish and
Scottish dancing.
Not to be outdone by the musical talent, Irish and Scottish sportsmen are on
hand to demonstrate some of the ancient athletic skills practiced for sport in
times past ...the stone put, caber toss, hammer throw, and others.
Camping is a favorite of "Fam-Jam" attendees, and the Sertoma Ranch offers both
tent and RV campsites. There are a variety of arts and crafts vendors on hand,
as well as a few food and beverage concessions. But bring your own food and drink
if you like. A pot luck dinner is held on
Friday evening. Well mannered pets are welcome.
