Taylor County
Taylor county boasts of having "the longest undeveloped coastline" in Florida. Yet fisherman and kayakers will find plenty of places to launch into that pristine wilderness ... from Econfina River State Park to the coastal community of Steinhatchee. The largest town is Perry, with a population of less than 10,000 people. but it's still active enough to have a WalMart Supercenter and a variety of local eateries. Taylor county is also home to the annual Florida Forest Festival - held each October - a rural spectacle that includes lumberjack shows, the world's largest free fish-fry, and loads of other activities for the whole family.
We also offer a companion book about Jefferson, Taylor & Dixie Counties - click image at right to order.
