Citrus County
Known as the "Manatee Capital of the World", Citrus County is home to the Homossassa and Crystal Rivers - both spring fed and perfectly clear at their source. Manatees gather in these waterways - particularly in the winter months. Three Sisters Spring often attracts hundreds of the huge gentle animals. A number of state parks, archeological sites and wildlife management areas make Citrus County a gem of the "Nature Coast".
